We are currently recruiting for a Senior Support Worker to join our team at Integra Ty Undeb.

Ty Undeb supports and accommodates 7 adults with long-term mental health issues and complex needs. We actively encourage the individuals we support to engage in the local community and to learn new skills. We pride ourselves on our person-centred working relationships that we develop with the people we support. Our professional relationships have enabled many individuals to develop skills and confidence to become independent and part of the wider community.

The staff team works with each individual to assess their existing skills and help enhance these further to promote independent living. Our team focuses on creating an open and honest environment for clients to communicate their needs and discuss issues they may be struggling with. We promote a positive, proactive approach to daily living and use individual one-page profiles to ensure all staff understand what’s important to each person.

The Senior Support Worker role is 37.5 hours and includes days, waking nights, weekends, and some lone working.

The role of a Senior Support Worker at National Care Group

As a Senior Support Worker, you will promote and ensure the implementation of the company’s vision of person-centred support while maintaining an individual’s potential and independence.

A Senior Support Worker is required to respect and work cooperatively with others, enabling the people we support to live in their own homes or within their local community with dignity and confidence. Responsibilities include:

* Assisting senior management to assess the needs of the people we support, using a Person-Centred Framework and the Supporting People Initiative.
* Facilitating and supporting the people we support to integrate within their local community.
* Identifying training needs of staff and coordinating training initiatives in consultation with the Registered Manager.
* Working with people we support to initiate and develop new ideas and methods to improve service quality.
* Participating in discussions, training sessions, and workshops to stay updated with changes.
* Having a full understanding of Care Standards.
* Maintaining high standards of professional conduct and morale, leading by example.
* Assisting management with staff coordination, supervision, and monitoring of practices.
* Coordinating resident appointments.
* Organizing regular (monthly) house meetings.
* Administering medications as required, following prescription guidelines.

Qualities needed to be a great support worker:

* Minimum Level 3 in Health and Social Care QCF/NVQ.
* Experience in leading, supervising, and motivating a team.
* A caring attitude and passion for supporting others to achieve goals.
* A team player, effective in working with colleagues.
* Resilience and confidence to seek support when needed.
* Excellent listening and communication skills.
