Location & Travel
Based in Cottingham, you will travel around Hull, East Coast up to Hornsea, Goole and Thorne.
Work type
Permanent. 37 hours per week, with a minimum of 3 nights in a 4‑week period.
What We Do
We provide essential water and wastewater services to Yorkshire and protect the environment.
Responsibilities
* Investigate 'Distribution Monitored Areas' using acoustic detection equipment to locate, quantify and promote leaks for repair.
* Carry out dynamic risk assessments and POWRA’s to ensure all activities are safe and delivered with minimal customer impact.
* Validate and quantify all work promoted to service partners to ensure optimal leakage reduction.
* Manage private leakage jobs through to resolution and take ownership of all leakage jobs.
* Build strong relationships with field and service partner personnel to support leakage reduction.
* Lead by example to take responsibility for own health and safety and the health and safety of others.
Skills & Qualifications
* Leak detection and resolution using acoustic sounding equipment (listening sticks and ground microphones).
* Use of leak sound correlation equipment, velocity checks and hydrophones.
* Fixed and lift‑and‑shift acoustic loggers.
* Enigma and Sound Sens correlating loggers and interpretation of information.
* Step tests and zero pressure testing, zone integrity tests and pressure logging.
* Netbase (Latis Lite) usage to understand DMA day/night usage patterns.
* Full clean driving licence.
* Ability to work unsociable hours (nights and weekends).
* NRSWA, Water Hygiene and Manual Handling training.
