Join Cheshire Constabulary's Fleet Team — Drive Your Career Forward
Please ensure your CV has been attached to your application so this can be reviewed.
Are you ready to keep the wheels of justice turning? Cheshire Constabulary is seeking a motivated, hands-on Parts and Stores Assistant to support our vital Fleet Services operation. If you have a passion for vehicles, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and want to be part of a team that keeps our communities safe, this is your chance
What's the Role?
Step into a dynamic 12-month opportunity where you'll play a pivotal part in ensuring our police vehicles are always ready for action. You'll help purchase, collect, store, and distribute essential spare parts and police equipment, all while supporting the smooth and efficient operation of our Vehicle Fleet Services. Every day brings something new — from sourcing specialist parts to managing inventory and providing exceptional customer service to our frontline teams.
Why Join Us?
* Be at the heart of the action, supporting our police officers and staff in keeping Cheshire safe.
* Work with a dedicated and supportive team, where your contribution makes a real impact.
* Develop your skills with hands-on experience in inventory management, logistics, and customer service.
* Enjoy variety in your day – from handling deliveries and using IT systems, to helping process specialist police kit and vehicle parts.
* Benefit from full training, wellbeing support, and access to employee resources throughout your contract.
What Are We Looking For?
* Experience working with automotive parts, whether in a dealership, parts supplier, or aftermarket specialist environment.
* Organisational flair, keen attention to detail, and the ability to keep the parts department running smoothly.
* Great communication and customer service skills — you'll assist colleagues, suppliers, and customers with confidence and clarity.
* IT competent, physically able to move and handle parts, and happy to occasionally collect, deliver, or move vehicles.
* GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths, plus an NVQ Level 2 in a vehicle/fleet related subject or relevant experience.
* A full UK driving licence.
Your Impact
You'll play a key role in supporting our police fleet — ensuring everything from patrol vehicles to specialist units are equipped and ready to respond. You'll help us innovate by managing recycled 'green' parts, and contribute to a positive, safe, and inclusive workplace where everyone is valued.
