GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated Primary Teaching Assistant to work within SEN settings across High Peak, with a start date of September 2025. About the Role: As a Primary Teaching Assistant (Primary TA), you will work closely with teachers and SENCOs to deliver personalised support to pupils with a range of additional learning needs. Whether offering one-to-one guidance, facilitating group activities, or helping manage classroom behaviour, your role will be crucial in fostering a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment. Responsibilities of a Primary Teaching Assistant: Support pupils with special educational needs in both group and one-to-one settings. Implement and adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and learning styles. Foster a safe, positive, and stimulating classroom environment. Encourage independence and social interaction among pupils. Deliver targeted interventions to support literacy, numeracy, and emotional development. Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and other professionals to ensure cohesive support. Assist with classroom management and general administrative tasks. Support pupils during transitions, break times, and off-site educational visits when needed. Maintain accurate pupil records and report progress and concerns regularly. Promote a consistent approach to behaviour management and emotional support. Job Requirements for Primary TA: Experience working with children in an educational or care setting, ideally in SEN as a Primary Teaching Assistant. CACHE Level 2/3 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Teaching Assistant or Childcare. A degree in Psychology, Education or a similar field. Excellent communication, patience, and interpersonal skills. Must be a driver and hold a valid UK driving licence due to travel between school sites. An Enhanced DBS registered on the update service or willingness to apply for one. Why Join GSL?
