About the Role
Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work on a supply basis in schools across Washington and the surrounding areas.
This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and are seeking flexible work to fit around other commitments. You may be working one-to-one or in small groups, supporting pupils with needs such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, or learning difficulties.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide tailored support to pupils with SEN to help them access the curriculum
* Work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to implement support plans
* Support pupils academically, socially, and emotionally
* Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning
* Assist with classroom activities and personal care where required
* Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Key Requirements
* Previous experience supporting children with SEN (school-based or relevant setting preferred)
* A caring, patient, and resilient approach
* Strong communication and team-working skills
* A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
* An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
* Right to work in the UK
