Overview
Join to apply for the NHS 111 Health Advisor Part Time - Bicester role at South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SCAS). This is an office-based position at our Bicester location with fixed part-time rotas based on current service needs. Remote or home working is not available.
Responsibilities
* Handle a wide variety of NHS 111 calls; no two days are the same. Provide information, assess needs, and guide patients and the public in urgent and non-urgent situations.
* You do not need a medical background, but you should be detailed, efficient, assertive, and compassionate. Look after yourself and support the team as part of patient care.
* Complete a full 6-week training program including NHS Pathways and develop the necessary skills to assess patient needs after training.
* Contribute to a supportive, professional environment within the SCAS team.
Qualifications and Training
* Essential: Good all-round education (e.g., 2 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English) or equivalent demonstrable experience; safeguarding‑related age requirement over 18 years.
* Desirable: NHS Pathways trained; NVQ 2/3 in Customer Services or equivalent; experience in a customer/patient services environment; experience using computerised systems and a telephone in work.
Knowledge and Experience
* Essential: Experience in customer/patient services and using a computerised system; experience using a telephone as a regular work communication method.
* Desirable: Call centre experience; geographical knowledge of the operational area; ability to work rotating shifts; experience in health or voluntary sectors; knowledge of first aid or anatomy.

* Salary: £24,937 to £26,598 per year pro rata

* Hours: Part-time (rota basis); other pay details include weekend and unsocial hours allowances as applicable
