ROLE – Product Design Engineer
LOCATION – Cambridge
TERM - Permanent
SALARY - £35,000 to £45,000 per annum
Premier Group are currently recruiting for a Product Designer to join the design team of a company working within the design of consumer products, retail displays and furniture.
You will be taking a leading role on the projects and assuming a large amount of responsibility. The materials in use would be a mix of metal, plastic, wood as well as design for 3D printing.
Ideally, we would like you to:
* Be skilled in using 2D and 3D CAD software
* Be able to create models / prototypes
* Be technically minded
* Have a product design/ engineering related degree
* Have experience designing products/ projects from concept to completion
* Strong Design for Manufacture skills
Responsibilities:
* Develop your ideas from concept to production.
* Sketch ideas and develop concepts.
* Create models/prototypes.
* Do market research, visit clients and listen to their feedback.
* Use all manufacturing processes.
* View and review tooling trials – potential for overseas travel.
* Quality test new products
