This role is based within the Advice Shop, where the successful candidate will promote financial inclusion and alleviate poverty through advice and advocacy in welfare benefits/appeals, money/budgeting, housing, and energy advice. The post involves working with vulnerable groups facing financial difficulties or seeking advice to improve their financial future. The responsibilities include providing advice to West Lothian residents, with a focus on older people, individuals with disabilities, or long-term health conditions, addressing causes of poverty, and supporting local poverty mitigation efforts. The role also involves developing actions aligned with the Community Planning Partnership's Tackling Poverty Strategy and demonstrating their impact. The candidate will deliver training to colleagues and partners, organize information events, and give talks and presentations to relevant groups. Essential skills include high-level research and analytical abilities, experience in giving advice on money, debt, benefits, energy, or housing. Experience in organizing events and delivering training is desirable.
