Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Capability Lead to oversee the Training Design and Delivery team, including instructional designers, developers, and training professionals. The role involves shaping training strategies, implementing programs, and driving continuous improvement within Rolls-Royce Submarines and the broader enterprise.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for developing talent, a strong understanding of instructional design methodologies, and experience managing technical and regulated training projects. This leadership position offers a chance to impact workforce capability and participate in strategic initiatives, including expansion into new markets like the Australian Submarine Agency.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage a team of instructional designers, content developers, and trainers, ensuring high-quality, timely delivery.
* Oversee the entire lifecycle of nuclear product training programs, from needs analysis to evaluation.
* Manage project plans, coordinate with stakeholders, and adapt to evolving requirements.
* Support learning governance, including compliance, records management, and reporting using models like Kirkpatrick.
* Stay current with emerging learning technologies and methodologies to foster innovation.
* Represent Rolls-Royce at internal and external meetings as deputy for the Training Manager.
Candidate Profile:
* Proven leadership and management experience in learning and development or related fields.
* Knowledge of instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) and evaluation frameworks (e.g., Kirkpatrick).
* Experience in developing and delivering diverse training formats (instructor-led, eLearning, blended).
* Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Degree in Education, Instructional Design, Engineering, or related field.
