Smiths has grown from a single owner-operated plant hire company to a multifaceted group with family values still firmly at the heart of each project undertaken. With depots in Avonmouth, Cardiff, Gloucester, Stonehouse and Tewkesbury we operate predominately across the South-West of England. We specialise in Construction, Waste Management, Plant Hire, Demolition and Transport operations.

Responsibilities for the job role:
We're looking for a proactive team player to join our Commercial Waste team. If you enjoy staying active and working outdoors, this role could be a great fit for you.
As part of a bin collection round, you'll be working alongside the driver, helping with a variety of tasks. This is a physical, mobile role that involves regular movement in and out of the vehicle, as well as completing paperwork on a company tablet.
Your responsibilities will include:
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys keeping active, working as part of a team, and takes pride in doing a job well.
* Assisting the driver with collecting wheelie bins and waste bags
* Helping with washing, greasing, and general vehicle maintenance when required
* Accurately completing all necessary paperwork
* Following all Health & Safety instructions and wearing the correct PPE
* Always applying safe working practices
* Immediately reporting any accidents, injuries, or near misses
* Completing weekly timesheets and handing them to your supervisor
