Job Title: Technical Author - Inorganic chemicals - UK BAT (Job ID 32437) at Environment Agency.
We are fully committed to an inclusive workforce and welcome flexible working patterns. This role focuses on drafting Best Available Techniques (BAT) conclusions and liaising with technical working groups to produce UK‑wide environmental standards.
Responsibilities
* Draft BAT conclusions and present a final document suitable for publication as a new UK‑wide environmental standard for industry.
* Liaise with Technical Working Groups and present findings.
* Analyse technical arguments and data critical to BAT conclusions.
* Write technical documents and manage projects to completion.
* Travel and overnight stays may be required.
Qualifications
* At least 5 years of experience in the large volume inorganic chemicals (LVIC) industry.
* Solid understanding of environmental regulation in the LVIC sector.
* Good understanding of process engineering and environmental issues.
* Knowledge of UK and EU industrial environmental legislation, including IED and Environmental Permitting Regulations.
* Strong technical analysis of complex industrial data and ability to communicate findings.
* Project management skills and drive to complete.
