Job Summary
Speech and Language Therapist Advisor (Early Years) – part‑time (0.5 FTE) role with the Services for Young Children (SfYC) team at Hampshire County Council. The successful candidate will use expert knowledge to support teachers and practitioners across the county in improving speech, language and education outcomes for children aged birth to five years.
Main duties of the job
The key purpose is to support schools and early years settings in implementing the SfYC Strategic Plan. Responsibilities include building trusting professional relationships, delivering training, providing guidance and advice, challenging existing practices and identifying innovative solutions. The role works across Hampshire, travelling to different districts as required.

Qualifications
* Qualified Speech and Language Therapist with current UK professional registration
* Experience/knowledge of working in maintained, private, voluntary and independent early years settings (birth to five years)
* Excellent knowledge of early years speech and language development
* Passion for inclusive practice and ability to challenge existing practices
* Capability to identify innovative solutions and deliver high‑quality training and support
Experience
* Demonstrated experience working with children in early years contexts, preferably across multiple sectors
