About the role
This role requires sufficient technical understanding to lead technical progress, drive cross-functional decision making and communicate project technical status and risk to senior management; whilst interacting with key stakeholders in the engineering,operationsand quality teams as well as key suppliers.
1. Lead communication with all stakeholders acting as a first technical point of contact for the project
2. Communicate between teams within the research and development organisations to ensure effective andtimelyinput; resolve conflicts and lead technical solutions
3. Alongside the project manager, organise regular progress meetings with all stakeholders (Engineering, Category, Operations, and Service teams). Including chairing PLT sessions, technical reviews andrepresentingengineering in RDD phase reviews and milestones.
4. Partner with the Project Manager to define level 0-2 plans and ensuring their delivery through prioritisation and escalation of unresolved conflicts.
5. Drive and follow-up the execution of the development plans in conjunction with the project manager, resolving or escalates problemstimely.
6. Set project technical direction and define the project team setup in conjunction with the project manager and engineering/technical leads detailing the makeup of the team to achieve the project.
7. Break down major requirementsin tosmaller cross-functional features and prioritise with stakeholders.
About you
8. Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent
9. Demonstrated experience in an engineering and manufacturing industry designing and delivering products through a cross functional team network
10. Proven experience and successfultrack recordof delivering robust design solutions on time, to specification and within cost and budget constraints.
11. Full design cycle experience - has played a key role in projects from early concept to start of production, global experience of site-to-site project transfers
12. Significant experienceof interacting and building relationships with senior stakeholders
13. Knowledge across a variety of technical areas and expert leadership to ensure the products are delivered ontime, tospecification,costandquality.
14. Ability to see the "bigger picture" of the technology andplatform as a whole, whilstalso being able to go into the details whenrequiredto do so.
15. Ability and credibility to motivate teams, strong influencing skills and leading with and without formal power and line authority.
16. Capable of multitasking, prioritising your work and the work of others.
17. Knowledge and proven experience in change management processes implementation
18. Excel at working with multiple stakeholders in a global organisation whilst keeping technology highly confidential.
19. Technical and personal credibility to work effectively in cross-functional design teams throughout the project development cycle.
20. Strong conflict resolution skills (assertiveness, active listening, empathy)
21. Excellent presentation,networkingand communication skills. Comfortable and used to present to senior leaders within the business.
22. An agile learner, understanding problems quickly whilst being able toidentifyexperts to help with the details
23. Flexibility: ability to cope with the introduction of new products, modification of existing products, change of delivery schedules, varying demand volumes, changes in the product and resources mix
