A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to join the small patient focused team at the fracture clinic Outpatients Department, Prince Charles Hospital and Ysbyty Cwm Cynon Hospital.
Fracture Clinic Outpatients facilitates a wide range of Consultant & Registrars seeing both Newly referred patients and follow ups.
The successful candidate must have an interest in Trauma & Orthopaedics Outpatient Nursing, work well independently and as part of a team, embrace the core values of the health board and a willingness to learn and improve services for patients.
Welsh Skills Desirable: This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable. This doesn’t mean essential; whilst the candidate doesn\'t need to have skills in Welsh, we\'ll consider it an advantage when short-listing and selecting candidates. This isn’t ‘fluency’, just Speaking & Listening skills at Level 3 (equivalent to CEFR B2) or above. Level 3 means basic conversations with patients about their everyday health. Main duties of the job
The skill of wound care, orthopaedic casting and bracing is important and required for this role. The successful applicant will be required to facilitate clinics independently, carry out clinical procedures, supervise junior staff and support Student Nurses on placement.
They would also be required to manage the Outpatient area in the absence of the Department Manager.
Staff are required to undertake Mandatory training and e-learning. Actively participate in PADR and are supported in achieving Revalidation.
The successful candidate is requested to actively participate and encourage Departmental learning and development.
Fracture Clinic Outpatients operates Monday to Friday, and it is important that the successful candidate is flexible over the 5-day period to meet the needs of the service.
