This position is ideally suited to someone with a minimum Level 3 qualification in Engineering and preferably IEE 17th or 18th Edition.

This averages to 44.57 hours per week
Purpose of the role:
As a Multi Skilled Engineer at a well-established Hatchery, you will optimise machinery output and product quality, minimise plant downtime through effective preventative maintenance, and respond efficiently, all while maintaining a safe and healthy environment and promoting good engineering practices.
The environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with some noisy and dusty areas, incubating eggs into chicks, where hygiene standards are critical. The role is predominantly factory-based.
Your key responsibilities include:
* Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance and Breakdown/Reactive Maintenance of Plant, Equipment, and incubators.
* Ensure maintenance is carried out according to schedule, with effective corrective actions.
* Respond promptly to breakdowns, identify root causes, and suggest improvements to prevent recurrence.
* Communicate breakdowns to Management and work with process departments to minimise disruption.
* Record and identify spare parts used through MS and report to the Engineering Team Leader.
* Follow good engineering standards and hygiene practices across the site.
* Ensure maintenance practices are audit-compliant.
* Carry out activities within health, safety, and environmental guidelines, reporting issues.
* Perform calibration of process weighers and liquid meters (Weights and Measures Act).
* Work safely in hazardous environments (Hot working, WAH).
* Participate in Mechanical projects, installations, and refurbishments.
* Participate in Electrical projects and installations.
* Operate effluent plant systems ensuring environmental compliance.
* Understand fire suppression systems – Fire Trace, Sprinkler, Hydrant systems.
* Demonstrate understanding of environmental impacts.
