To provide the leadership and management of the EC&I engineering team in the delivery of Aquila's major projects or workstreams. The role is responsible for producing EC&I engineering elements that support successful delivery of machine design and build projects from concept to manufacture, testing and handover. It also manages design output of Aquila's sub‑contractors, ensuring EC&I elements are conceptually validated and meet project specifications. Reporting directly to the Technical Manager, the engineer produces EC&I design and associated documentation in line with company and international standards, and works with the Principal Engineer and Technical Authority.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Progress the technical delivery of EC&I elements for engineering projects in alignment with the Technical Manager, Project Engineering Manager and Project Manager.
* Support Project Managers to ensure EC&I designs meet requirements.
* Ensure EC&I project scope is satisfied efficiently and effectively.
* Work alongside multi‑disciplined design teams to ensure designs are fit for purpose and integrate electrical and control requirements.
* Peer‑review EC&I content produced in‑house or by sub‑contractors for adherence to industry standards and project specifications.
* Provide technical support to the commercial department.
* Witness factory acceptance tests and sign off projects.
* Analyze technical tender specifications, produce technical aspects of tender returns and create accurate tender design estimates.
* Assist in general clerical and administrative duties to support the smooth running of the EC&I department within Engineering.
* Understand GDPR/data protection legislation procedures and requirements in a highly regulated environment.
* Support business change via effective change management processes within Aquila Nuclear Engineering’s fast‑paced regulatory environment.
* Be responsible for own workplace safety, demonstrate commitment to health and safety, and ensure statutory obligations are met in line with UK and European standards.
Qualifications
* HNC/HND Engineering Discipline (Electrical) or a relevant Engineering Degree (BEng / MSc).
* Professional Registration – EngTech, IEng or CEng.
* Experience in nuclear or highly regulated industry.
* Security clearance – DV/SC.
* Current valid right to work in the UK.
