Job Summary
We are seeking a Salaried GP, 6 Sessions at Pendeen Surgery, Ross-on-Wye. The role involves 6 sessions per week delivering telephone, Face‑to‑Face and home visit consultations, along with the usual GP duties of administration, prescriptions, referrals and MDT participation.
Responsibilities
* Deliver surgical, telephone and home‑visit consultations as scheduled.
* Make autonomous clinical decisions for self‑referred and professionally referred patients.
* Assess undifferentiated and undiagnosed health needs, screen for disease and develop care plans.
* Provide counselling, health education and record detailed consultation notes to agreed standards.
* Prescribe and manage repeat prescriptions in line with the practice formulary.
* Collect data for audit purposes and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
* Submit to and uphold practice policies and national guidelines on prescribing, confidentiality, data protection and health & safety.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Medical Degree and completion of GP vocational training or equivalent (JCPTGP Cert).
* MRCGP certification.
Experience
* Excellent clinical, communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
* IT literate with demonstrable evidence of clinical governance activities.
* In‑depth knowledge of the Quality & Outcomes Framework (desirable).
* Experience with EMIS Web and peripheral IT systems (desirable).
* Specialist skills in chronic disease management areas (desirable).
Personal Qualities
* Able to work under pressure, proactive, friendly, flexible, and able to operate within agreed frameworks.
Other Requirements
* Full GMC registration with current re‑validation and membership of a recognised medical defence organisation.
* SGP must be registered and approved on the Medical Performers List of an SHA (or equivalent NHS body).
* Enhanced UK Disclosure & Barring Service check required pre‑employment.
* Valid driving licence, insurance (including business use) and use of a car for work.
