Town Planner Exeter | Southwest Competitive Salary Benefits An established planning, heritage and archaeology consultancy is seeking a Town Planner to join its growing team based in Exeter. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a dynamic and collaborative consultancy working across a diverse range of development projects throughout the Southwest and beyond. The successful candidate will join a talented multidisciplinary team and play a key role in supporting clients through every stage of the planning process, from initial feasibility and planning strategy through to securing planning consent. Projects range widely and include agricultural diversification schemes, mixed-use developments, regeneration projects and community-led initiatives, providing excellent exposure to varied and rewarding planning work. The Role You will support and lead on planning projects across a varied portfolio of developments while working closely with colleagues across planning, heritage and archaeology disciplines. Key responsibilities include: Supporting clients with planning advice and development strategies Preparing and managing planning applications and supporting reports Assisting with projects from initial feasibility through to determination Supporting planning appeals and S106 negotiations Liaising with local authorities, consultants and stakeholders Contributing to business development and client relationship building Collaborating with internal specialists including heritage, ecology, highways and drainage consultants About You Candidates should have: Experience in town planning, gained in consultancy, local government or within a developer/housebuilder environment A good understanding of planning policy and legislation Experience supporting planning applications and development proposals A degree or postgraduate qualification in Town Planning or a related discipline MRTPI membership or working towards chartership Strong communication and organisational skills A proactive and collaborative approach to project delivery What’s on Offer Competitive salary and bespoke benefits package Flexible and hybrid working options Generous holiday allowance Opportunity to work on high-profile and community-shaping projects A supportive, collaborative and progressive working culture Excellent opportunities for career development and progression Feel free to get in touch if interested – marta@zodiacrecruitment.co.uk / 01792 677 005
