About the Role:
The Cleaning Area Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of cleaning contracts within a designated area. The role includes managing a team of cleaning supervisors and operatives, ensuring service delivery meets client expectations and company standards, and maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operational Management:
* Manage cleaning operations across multiple client sites.
* Ensure consistent high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation.
* Conduct regular site visits and audits to monitor performance.
* Team Management:
* Recruit, train, and manage cleaning staff and supervisors.
* Create staff rotas and manage absences, holidays, and cover.
* Provide leadership, motivation, and performance feedback.
* Client Relationship Management:
* Build strong relationships with clients, acting as the first point of contact.
* Attend client meetings and respond promptly to queries or complaints.
* Ensure contract requirements and KPIs are met or exceeded.
* Health, Safety & Compliance:
* Ensure all cleaning activities comply with health and safety regulations.
* Maintain accurate records of COSHH, risk assessments, and training.
* Investigate and report incidents or accidents.
* Financial Management:
* Manage area budgets, stock, and equipment procurement.
* Monitor labour hours and control costs effectively.
* Ensure billing and payroll information is accurate and timely.
Requirements:
* Proven experience in cleaning or facilities management at a supervisory or managerial level.
* Strong leadership and people management skills.
* Excellent communication and client-facing skills.
* Good organizational and time-management abilities.
* Familiarity with health and safety legislation (e.g., COSHH, Risk Assessments).
* Full UK driving license (or as required in your region).
Desirable Qualifications:
* BICSc or IOSH certification.
* Experience with contract management or multi-site supervision.
* Knowledge of cleaning industry best practices and technologies.
