Join to apply for the Lead Psychologist role at TipTopJob. An amazing new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Lead Psychologist to work in 2 exceptional mental health services based in the Cumbria area.

You will be working for one of the UK’s leading health care providers. You will provide support across two services in Workington and another in Cumbria, spending 3 days per week at the closest service and 2 days at the other, or working part‑time at either service. Both offer community‑based residential care for adults with learning disabilities and/or autism.


Key Responsibilities

* Participating in the assessment of referrals and providing initial assessment service users referred to the service.
* Undertaking high quality direct (assessment and therapeutic) and indirect (consultative, advisory, and evaluative) specialist psychological interventions and making autonomous clinical decisions.
* Working therapeutically with service users with complex presentations, undertaking the assessments using a broad range of structured psychometric and semi‑structured clinical methods.
* Formulating and implementing plans of specialist psychological treatment or management of patients’ mental health needs based on a multi‑factorial psychological understanding and current evidence‑based best practice.
* Being professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of clinical work and care.
* Maintaining high standards of care in all areas of practice and in accordance with the HCPC Code of Conduct, professional guidelines and company policies and procedures.


Qualifications

* Hold a BPS recognised psychology degree and UK HCPC registration.
* Approved supervisor within the guidelines of the BPS and relevant division.
* Evidence‑based psychological practice in a learning disabilities and autism setting.
* Experience working with clients with cognitive deficits.
* Previous experience of conducting research and project work.

* Understanding of evidence‑based psychological practice.
* Experience applying psychological knowledge to a Learning Disabilities and Autism setting.
