Additionally, Nica Burns has recently built an exciting new theatre located at the top of Charing Cross Road, @sohoplace, which has a close operational relationship with Nimax Theatres. About the role The General Counsel has responsibility for legal, contractual and regulatory matters across the business, while the Head of HR has responsibility for all HR and employment issues. The role will report to, and work closely with, the General Counsel and Head of HR to provide support across each of their respective areas. The role will require managing detailed document files, handling contract and HR matters, carrying out administrative tasks, all while maintaining strict confidentiality. The successful candidate may also be required to work closely with other members of the Senior Management Team as well as supporting the Executive Director as and when required. Key duties and responsibilities Legal To assist the General Counsel in the management of: theatre agreements with show producers, supplier agreements, ticketing arrangements, confidentiality agreements, standard terms and conditions and other contractual and/or legal matters To co-ordinate and provide administrative support in respect of all “business as usual” contracts including record keeping (hard copy and electronically), and following up internally with stakeholders, and externally with third parties, in respect of outstanding matters To provide support and administrative assistance on ad-hoc legal and commercial issues including in respect of disputes and litigation matters To undertake research and generate know-how on a broad range of legal and regulatory matters HR To support recruitment processes, reviewing job descriptions and person specifications, placing advertisements, scheduling interviews, taking up references, and preparing offer letters and contracts working to standard Company templates To support the Head of HR with the running of the HR & Payroll systems; particularly the administration of areas such as new starter processes, leave management, and recruitment functions and supporting and advising managers in these areas To assist the Head of HR with employee starter and leaver processes; providing reference letters for leavers, collecting personal information and contracts, and establishing proof of right to work in the UK. To support the Head of HR with internal HR processes including the keeping of accurate records, and taking notes in disciplinary and grievance meetings To support the Head of HR in overseeing HR record-keeping processes, ensuring that the HR system is appropriately maintained, in line with Company policy To assist in the development and administration of HR, management and leadership training programmes Data Protection To provide assistance in complying with data subject rights including data subject access requests and deletion of data To help manage internal data protection systems To assist on a variety of tasks required to ensure compliance with data protection laws and regulations General To provide administrative support for meetings, issuing agendas, taking minutes and arranging rooms and resources as required To provide administration and coordination support to specific projects as requested by the General Counsel, Head of HR and Executive Director To provide general administrative support to the Executive Director, General Counsel and Head of HR, being responsible for filing, record-keeping and archiving, diary management, provision of documents and the drafting of correspondence To undertake any other duty commensurate with the level of the post as may be reasonably required by the General Counsel, Head of HR and Executive Director This job description is not an exhaustive document but is a reflection of the current position and details may be changed from time to time. Person specification Legal background – practical or academic legal experience to include some or all of the following – experience in a legal or business affairs department, a law degree and/ or a vocational qualification (e.g. CPE, LPC, GDL or equivalent) Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills Demonstrable ability to prioritise and work to deadlines Positive, proactive and supportive attitude Resilient with an ability to work under pressure Excellent computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office packages Ability to maintain absolute discretion; Works well within a team; Ability to multi-task and manage several matters simultaneously and to prioritise workload as appropriate Terms & Conditions: Working hours: 40 hours per week, 9:30am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday with a one-hour paid lunchbreak.
