Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic, customer focussed Retail & Hospitality Assistants to join our team and assist mainly in the operation of our cafés, and in the preparation and running of events at a variety of our venues. You will deliver excellent levels of customer care and engagement to all visitors. This will involve operating the electronic point of sale to transact cash and credit card sales and reconciling café and shop takings. You will also be required to help prepare and serve food, making hot drinks and carrying out cleaning duties as required. We may also require you to help in the preparation of venues prior to events, undertake visitor assistance and queue management as needed, and supporting the de-installation and clearing-up of the venue upon completion. The casual roles will be based at the Laing Art Gallery, Great North Museum: Hancock and Discovery Museum in Newcastle upon Tyne. Working hours will vary and could involve opportunities to work weekdays and weekends especially during school holidays and some evenings. We are especially looking for staff who are available to work Saturdays at the moment.

We are especially looking for staff who are available to work Saturdays at the moment. Pay rate: £7.55 - £12.21 per hour
* These posts attract a Real Living Wage supplement. In addition to the hourly rate, these posts will receive a Real Living Wage supplement to bring the hourly rate up to £13.45 an hour.
