JOB OVERVIEW
We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Assistant Theatre Manager who has excellent people management/leadership skills, effective communication and organisational skills, and is able to pay close attention to detail.
The Theatre is currently closed and undergoing major improvement works, scheduled to reopen in Summer 2024. The organisation is looking to have an Assistant Theatre Manager in place ready for the reopening to showcase the new look. The successful candidate will assist the Theatre Manager in leading with a creative vision that maintains and strengthens its identity and reputation.
The ideal candidate will excel in meeting customer needs politely and professionally, going above and beyond to ensure they have the best experience at the venue. Personal motivation and a high profile around the theatre are essential.
This role supports the Theatre Manager in the theatre's operational running, with a hands-on approach to ensure the theatre is always ready to welcome hirers and customers.

DUTIES
* Ensure the smooth and secure opening and closing of the theatre
* Supervise colleagues' work
* Assist in training and induction of new staff
* Manage staff rotas in conjunction with the Theatre Manager
* Lead service standards across Front of House, bars, and hospitality
* Duty manage various events including live music, theatre, pantomime, comedy, festivals, rehearsals, workshops, fairs, and community events
* Provide an exceptional customer experience
* Liaise with external contractors for operational repairs and maintenance
* Ensure all departmental paperwork and training are completed
* Oversee equipment and furniture setup for events
* Assist with cash handling and record keeping
* Ensure health and safety standards are maintained for customers and staff
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
* GCSE English and Maths or equivalent
* Experience in duty management within the arts industry
* Ability to motivate and manage staff
* Attention to detail and adherence to procedures
* Experience in staff training and supervision
* Strong organisational skills
* Leadership and teamwork abilities
* Understanding of targets and KPIs
* Knowledge of programming balance
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
* Multitasking and time management skills
DESIRABLE
* Knowledge of health and safety issues relevant to Leisure & Entertainment industry
