Overview
The UCL Department of Geography invites applications for the position of Lecturer in Geographies of Health. Up to two full-time, open-ended appointments will commence in September 2025.
Department Highlights
The Department of Geography (https://www.ucl.ac.uk/geography/) is a leading global institution (4th in QS 2025, 2nd in Shanghai 2024). It boasts high research ratings, with 96% of research activity rated as World Leading or Internationally Excellent in the 2021 REF. The department covers diverse areas of Human and Physical Geography and is expanding its Geographies of Health research cluster for 2025-26, building on UCL's leadership in health and social sciences.
Research and Collaboration
Faculty are engaged in cross-disciplinary initiatives including the Institute of Advanced Studies, the UCL Anthropocene initiative, and the Sarah Parker Remond Centre. The successful candidate will join the Health of the Public community, ranked 3rd globally in Public Health (Shanghai 2024), and collaborate with other UCL entities such as the Institute of Global Health and the Faculty of Population Health Sciences.
Candidate Profile
Applicants should hold a PhD (by start date) in Human Geography or a related field with an environmental or spatial health focus. Evidence of ability to conduct and publish internationally excellent research is essential. Candidates should demonstrate teaching aptitude at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and may contribute expertise in areas such as:

* Health and development
* Health and race
* Health and environment
* Health and cities

Post-holder(s) will contribute to new modules and MSc programs in Geographies of Health. The application deadline is Monday, 5 May 2025, at 23:59 GMT. Interviews are scheduled before mid-June.
