Who are we? First Marine Solutions (FMS) are a service provider to the local and international renewables and oil & gas sectors specialising in the engineering, design, procurement, installation, and maintenance of mooring systems for floating platforms. FMS also specialise in the planning and undertaking of marine activities related to floating platforms such as towage, vessel loadouts, marine assurance, and assisting with location planning and consent. The Role? The Equipment Logistics Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring that all import and export activities comply with applicable customs regulations for the region/s applicable. While data accuracy will be the primary objective of the role, the position also requires operational involvement and assistance to the workshop team as shipments are prepared to go live. What will you do? Ensure accuracy of customs declarations and other related documents prior to lodging. Support the Workshop team in handling import and export shipments and be actively involved at time of all shipments front running compliance requirements. Ensure all operations adhere to customs and trade laws. Classify products according to the Harmonized System (HS) code, also develop and maintain an inhouse list of applicable and accurate tariff codes that are business specific for regular utilisation. Act as the primary point of contact in this regard both internal and external as required. Provide guidance to internal teams on customs-related matters. Identify and mitigate potential customs risks and issues. Refine and implement operational customs compliance procedures and policies. Keep up to date with changes in customs laws and regulations. Work with freight forwarders, brokers, and other involved parties. Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with customs regulations. Assist and ensure corrective actions are taken when information is found to be incorrect. Provide training to staff on customs compliance issues. Assist and manage record-keeping systems for all customs documentation. Assist with any other duties as and when required. Carry out work in a timely and efficient manner in order to meet deadlines, changing priorities when the situation requires. Carry out work in accordance with First Marine Solutions operating procedures and statutory/client specifications and requirements. Your Qualifications & Experience? Essential Strong understanding of customs legislation, tariff schedules, and import/export controls including: Return Goods relief. Temporary Import & Export. Postponed VAT accounting & implications. Preference declaration on imports. Restricted goods & associated licensing – UK. At least five years of experience in customs compliance, logistics and international trade. Proficiency in logistics software and IT systems, mostly Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, Word, Excel etc. Preferred Bachelor's degree in business administration, international relations, logistics, or a related field. Certified compliance professional qualification. Experience with offshore Survey, positioning and Construction projects. Who are you?
