About the Role
Are you a reliable, proactive Caretaker or Site Manager looking for flexible or long-term work within the education sector?
Complete Classroom Services is currently recruiting experienced and dependable Caretakers to work across a range of Primary, Secondary, and SEN schools in the Hackney and Newham areas. We are seeking individuals who take pride in maintaining safe, clean, and secure school environments and who understand the importance of safeguarding in schools.
Whether you have previous school-based experience or transferable skills from facilities, maintenance, or site management roles, we would love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities
* Opening and closing school premises, ensuring site security at all times
* Carrying out minor repairs and general maintenance (basic DIY, plumbing, etc.)
* Conducting routine Health & Safety checks, including fire alarms and emergency exits
* Maintaining cleanliness of indoor and outdoor communal areas
* Monitoring heating, lighting, and water systems
* Preparing and supporting site setups for school events and meetings
* Liaising with external contractors and reporting maintenance issues
* Ensuring safeguarding and security standards are upheld across the site
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
* Previous caretaker, facilities, or site management experience (school experience desirable)
* Basic maintenance and DIY skills
* A proactive, reliable, and trustworthy approach
* Good communication skills and flexibility
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one through us
