The Data Centre Shift Technician is responsible for the monitoring, operation, and support of critical infrastructure within the data center to ensure continuous availability of services. Working as part of a 24/7 operations team, the technician supports the reliable performance of electrical, mechanical, and environmental systems that maintain the stability of the facility. The role involves monitoring systems such as BMS and DCIM, responding to alarms, and investigating any irregularities in power, cooling, or environmental conditions. The technician performs routine facility walkthroughs to check the operational status of equipment including UPS systems, generators, switchgear, PDUs, CRAC/CRAH units, and other supporting infrastructure. The Shift Technician also assists with preventative maintenance activities and supports vendors and contractors carrying out planned work within the facility, ensuring all activities follow approved procedures and safety standards. Accurate shift handovers, operational logs, and incident reporting are maintained to ensure clear communication between teams and continuity of operations. This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to respond calmly to operational incidents, and a good understanding of critical facility environments. Experience or qualifications in electrical, mechanical, or building services engineering are beneficial, along with the ability to work effectively within a 24/7 shift rotation.
