Job Description:
Our client, a prominent UK contractor in the construction and civil engineering sector, is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team based in Cumbria, England. The role involves project cost management, financial control, and supporting construction and civil engineering projects. This is a great opportunity for a skilled Quantity Surveyor to advance their career with a leading industry player.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with project teams to understand requirements.
2. Prepare cost estimates and budgets.
3. Monitor project financials and conduct variance analysis.
4. Negotiate and manage contracts.
5. Conduct cost reporting and risk assessment.
6. Advise on procurement and contractual matters.
7. Support value engineering to optimize costs.
8. Manage payment applications and change orders.
9. Maintain accurate cost records.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
* Proven experience in construction and civil engineering sectors.
* Knowledge of construction contracts, procurement, and cost management.
* Proficiency in relevant software.
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Ability to work independently and in teams.
* Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
* Professional accreditation (RICS, CIOB, or similar) is advantageous.
