Job DescriptionWorking hybrid style, you will based at home and 365 Clepington office, you will work full time, 37 hours per week.\n \nApplicants please note that those shortlisted will be invited to an assessment centre and interview, dates for these will be advised to shortlisted candidates as soon as possible after the closing date.\n \nIf you have any queries regarding this vacancy, please contact Louise Butchart 01382 434353 or email louise.butchart01@dundeecity.gov.ukRequirementsYou will have relevant Construction related professional qualification and evidence of continuing professional development.ResponsibilitiesYou will be a key member of the Neighbourhood Services Management Team, lead the Construction Services in the delivery of effective and efficient construction, modernisation, maintenance and repairs for all Council properties.\n \nYou will manage the delivery of all works, including commercial contracts, whilst ensuring the achievement of the financial objectives which have been set for the service by the Council.\n \nYou will work with the Head of Service to lead and manage all aspects of Construction Services, including the development of strategies, managing performance, encouraging innovation and modernisation, through the support and development of employees.\n \nYou will contribute to corporate decision making and to the formulation and delivery of the Council’s corporate strategy and change programme.\n \nYou will support and advise Elected Members on technical matters relating to the Construction Services and help shape the Council’s overall strategic objectives and priorities.The Individual You will have proven record of successful leadership of teams at a senior management level, record of successful partnership and collaborative working with a range of bodies.\n \nYou will have the ability to demonstrate success in change management and changing cultures in a way that has successfully improved services and modernised ways of working, proven record of strategic management and planning including ability to demonstrate innovation in approach.\n \nYou will have knowledge of the legislative framework, the Scottish Government and national agenda to ensure the Council meets its’ commitments, experience of financial management including value for money, probity and accountability with a clear understanding of health and safety responsibilities.\n \nYou will have experience of providing advice and support to elected members or at board level and demonstrate an understanding of working within the public sector.\n \nYou will have good verbal and written communication skills including the ability to produce reports on complex issues, excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to form positive relationships at all levels, strong advocacy and influencing skills, with the ability to present ideas and proposals effectively at senior levels.\n \nYou will have clear analytical skills to allow the exploration, evaluation and interpretation of information and opinions.\n \nYou will have strong decision-making skills with the ability to make decisions and recommendations based on the analysis of options, successful record of engaging effectively with others, building productive working relationships, including high profile stakeholders, statutory authorities and private sector.\n \nYou will have the ability to motivate specialist teams to achieve high standards of performance, capacity to work under pressure to meet deadlines, satisfy political objectives and organisational priorities and demonstrate commitment to, and achievement of, equality and diversity issues.
