This is a newly created opportunity to enhance the speed, consistency, and commercial accuracy of project pricing across a diverse client portfolio. The role will be instrumental in transitioning from a traditional multi-quote approach to a more data-driven pricing model, including the development of a robust cost database to enable faster turnaround and improved cost certainty.
Working across four business units, the Quantity Surveyor will support a growing project team and contribute to delivering commercially sound solutions within a fast-paced and evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain a comprehensive cost database to support efficient and reliable pricing
* Produce accurate cost estimates, budgets, and benchmarking data to improve response times to client requests
* Review and analyse subcontractor pricing, reducing reliance on multiple quotations where appropriate
* Manage project costs across the full lifecycle, ensuring commercial control from inception to completion
* Administer contracts in line with JCT and NEC forms, including accurate management of variations
* Monitor project financial performance, ensuring alignment with budgets and profitability targets
* Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and operational teams to ensure commercially viable delivery
* Support procurement strategies and subcontractor engagement to achieve best value outcomes
* Identify and mitigate commercial risks across projects
* Contribute to continuous improvement of pricing methodologies and commercial processes
* Provide clear, timely reporting on project financial status
Key Accountabilities
* Deliver fast, accurate, and commercially robust pricing aligned to client expectations
* Maintain strong cost control and governance across multiple projects and business units
* Support divisional growth by improving pricing efficiency and commercial insight
* Contribute to profitability through effective cost management and value engineering
Experience and Skills
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction, fit-out, M&E, or facilities management
* Strong working knowledge of JCT and NEC contracts, including variation management
* Experience managing costs across multiple projects simultaneously
* Demonstrated ability to improve pricing processes or implement cost systems/databases
* Strong commercial awareness with a clear understanding of cost drivers and value engineering
* Experience contributing to or managing P&L performance is advantageous
* Background in fast-paced and client-facing environments preferred
