ACADEMIC LEADER
£57,687 Per Annum pro rata

We are currently inviting applications for a temporary post of Academic Leader (1 FTE) in the Department of Automotive Studies.
Adopting a collegiate approach, the Academic Leader will ensure a positive learning experience through the effective leadership of delivery and quality assurance for the designated curricular area.
As a key member of the Departmental Leadership Team, the Academic Leader will ensure that quality processes are embedded in course design, delivery and evaluation of learning and teaching whilst providing effective advice, support and assistance to staff and students.
The department currently delivers a range of full time courses and apprenticeship programmes across a range of subjects including light vehicles, heavy goods and public service vehicles, motorcycles, vehicle accident repair and vehicle paint refinishing. Applicants holding relevant technical qualifications and experience from any of the above disciplines will be considered.
On an academic level, applicants will hold or be working towards a relevant qualification at SCQF9 and a relevant teaching qualification that would enable registration with GTCS. Applicants will also be experienced education professionals with the skills to lead and develop a team and to teach within the curricular provision of the Department.
The role will encompass a range of responsibilities within the College and it is expected that the postholder will provide the knowledge and expertise to lead the effective delivery of the curriculum. This will include:
1. Academic Leadership;
2. Operational development and resource planning for the curricular area;
3. Quality Assurance.
4. Assist in the development of the Department for Automotive Studies.
