Mission description
In the UK, Safran Seats specialises solely in the First Class and Business Class seating markets for wide body aircraft, with industrial and engineering teams in Cwmbran and Newport, Wales and Brackley, England. The purpose of this role is to support the achievement of operational targets and KPI's. To support production within a mechanical field requiring skilled intervention, ensuring the highest standards of quality assurance. You will be required to support and promote best working practices across all production areas and seek to suggest and support improvement activities. You will be required to support and assist production Operator training in Proven installation / Process techniques Key Responsibilities will include: Assist Operations with assembly and Installation of seat / cabin sub-assemblies and final assemblies to design data within required cycle and DPU. Assist Operations with mechanical seat / cabin function tests, fault finding and diagnostic analysis De-snag mechanical installations assemblies and complete supporting documentation Inspect and verify installation of mechanical assemblies and all supporting documentation Perform minor rework operations within compliance of procedure Use and demonstrate correct use of and control of on line tool jigs and fixture. Make production and assembly aids including jigs and fixtures. Understand impact of process and product viability of both purchased and manufactured components during fitment on line. Assist within the requirements of Operator training. Continuous review and update of production operation standards in conjunction with manufacturing process technicians and production engineering, to deskill, whilst improve product quality. To support in launching of product into production. Support Production Operators in technical processes and quality issues. Mentor and train colleagues in working practices. Implement 5S standards. Participate in team continuous improvement activities and support the development of best working practices within the Assembly Plant. Support Engineers in problem solving activities as and when required.
Candidate requirements: Excellent Engineering Mathematics Skills. Holds Mechanical NVQ Level 3. Previous assembly manufacturing experience in a product development and continuous improvement environment Applying problem solving techniques using A3'S/8D'S/4D'S, QRQC, Good understanding of engineering science and principles Ability to follow engineering drawings Demonstrate multi faceted manual dexterity tool skills Good Level of Mathematic ability Holds or working towards Mechanical Engineering HNC Successful candidate will have come from an engineering background. Sound Computer skills with Microsoft packages. No candidate will meet every single desired qualification.
