Junior-Mid Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire

We are looking for someone with a passion for infrastructure, ideally from an operational support services background. You will be self‑motivated and able to work autonomously to achieve day‑to‑day objectives with significant results on project or operational deliverables, whilst also owning a variety of activities ensuring compliance with project milestones and customer KPI’s and SLA’s. You must be an effective communicator, comfortable directly engaging with customers and colleagues, and demonstrate an analytical and systematic approach to technical challenges.
Role and Responsibilities
The role will provide technical exposure across both outcomes‑based project activities and operational (Business as Usual) support activities. Duties include providing remote and on‑site support, delivering out‑of‑hours on‑call support, contributing to the creation and ongoing maintenance of technical documentation, and supporting project work or operational support services.
Your Skills and Knowledge
* Good knowledge of virtualised environments such as VMware and Hyper‑V (VMware advantage)
* Good knowledge of virtualised desktop environments such as Omnissa and Citrix (Omnissa advantage); experience with virtualised applications beneficial
* Strong Windows Server experience (Server 2016–2025), including OS build, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO design to implementation
* Experience with Windows 10 & 11 OS build and customisation
* Linux system administration skills (Ubuntu, Rocky, RedHat), OS build and customisation
* General networking knowledge (TCP/IP, SMB/CIFS, iSCSI)
* Microsoft stack knowledge: SharePoint, Skype for Business, SQL, System Centre, Office 2024, SCCM & SCOM, Power BI, Exchange, PowerShell
* NAS & SAN storage technologies
* Knowledge of 2‑Factor Authentication technologies
* Some scripting experience
* Strong analysis and problem‑solving skills; ownership of simple incidents to resolution
* Excellent communication skills
* Experience producing/updating high‑standard technical documentation
* Helpdesk ticketing system knowledge
* ITIL3 or ITIL4 Foundation level or above
