Position Description
You will deliver electrical installation, commissioning, testing, fault-finding and remedial works for HVAC systems across [commercial / industrial / residential] sites. Work includes power and controls for air handling units (AHUs), chillers, heat pumps, boilers, fan coils, VRF/VRV systems, BMS/controls interfaces, and associated distribution and containment. You’ll ensure compliance with BS 7671 and company QA standards, supporting both planned projects and reactive maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
* Electrical installation and connection of Air Handling Units (AHUs) on site.
* Termination of motors, sensors, actuators, control panels, and MCBs.
* Reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and GA drawings.
* Assisting with commissioning, testing, and fault-finding of AHUs.
* Liaising with site managers, mechanical contractors, and commissioning engineers.
* Ensuring all work complies with BS7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and site H&S requirements.
* Completing site documentation, test certificates, and reports.
* Occasional support at the manufacturing facility for panel testing or build assistance (as required).
Required Education & Qualifications
* Qualified Electrician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
* 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
* ECS / CSCS card.
* Proven experience in site-based electrical work.
* Ability to work from drawings and schematics.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
* Professional attitude with good communication skills.
* Previous experience working with AHUs, HVAC systems, or BMS controls.
* Commissioning experience.
* IPAF / PASMA.
* First Aid at Work.
* Experience working on commercial or industrial projects.
