About the Role As Contracts Manager, you’ll take ownership of multiple contracts, ensuring services are delivered safely, efficiently, and to agreed standards. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll oversee day-to-day planning, resource allocation, compliance, and client relations. You’ll work closely with senior leaders and support functions to meet performance targets and maintain ISO accreditation standards. This role is central to the delivery of high-quality services and will suit someone confident in managing both operational detail and strategic outcomes. Key Responsibilities Lead the delivery of contracts ensuring all works meet specification, quality, and safety requirements. Manage teams and resources to maximise productivity and service standards. Monitor budgets, forecast costs, and ensure contract profitability. Oversee vehicle, plant, and equipment checks, ensuring operational readiness. Collaborate with compliance teams to conduct audits and implement corrective actions. Provide operational insight to support business development and contract retention. Deliver regular management reporting and contribute to internal reviews. Maintain team performance, ensure adherence to HSEQ policies, and deliver toolbox talks. Build effective client relationships and offer expert guidance when needed. What We’re Looking For Proven experience managing contracts in a similar environment (arboriculture/environmental services, Highway sector) Strong understanding of UK health, safety, and environmental legislation. Financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, and estimating. Experience managing operational teams in a fast-paced, field-based setting. Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence others positively. Confident using Microsoft Office and internal management systems. Understanding of arboricultural operations and tree asset data systems is highly desirable. Qualifications Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience. Relevant industry or management qualifications (e.g. HND, BSc, MSc) are advantageous.
