Overview

The Service Care Manager is responsible for the effective day-to-day management of supported living, residential, or domiciliary care services. The role ensures that high-quality, person-centred care is delivered in line with regulatory requirements, organisational policies, and best practice standards. The Service Care Manager will lead, support, and supervise staff teams while promoting the wellbeing, independence, and dignity of service users.

Service Delivery

* Ensure the provision of high-quality, person-centred care and support to all service users.
* Monitor care plans, risk assessments, and health action plans to ensure they are up to date and reflect service users' needs.
* Oversee medication management practices, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
* Respond promptly to incidents, complaints, and safeguarding concerns in line with organisational and regulatory requirements.

Leadership & Staff Management

* Provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to staff teams, ensuring professional development and performance management.
* Organise staff rotas to ensure safe staffing levels that meet service needs.
* Facilitate regular team meetings and communication to keep staff engaged and informed.
* Support staff through training, appraisals, and continuous professional development.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

* Ensure the service operates in line with CQC (Care Quality Commission) standards, Health & Safety legislation, and safeguarding regulations.
* Maintain accurate records, audits, and reports to evidence quality and compliance.
* Implement continuous improvement measures and ensure action plans are followed through.
* Work closely with directors, commissioners, and external stakeholders to meet contractual obligations.

Finance & Resources

* Manage service budgets effectively, including staffing, petty cash, and resources.
* Ensure value for money and cost-effectiveness in service delivery.
* Authorise expenditure within agreed limits and report variances.

Communicates

* Act as the primary point of contact for service users, families, professionals, and external agencies.
* Result
* Promote the organisation's values and ethos both internally and externally.

Requirements

Specified Person

Essential:

* Proven experience in managing supported living or social care services.
* NVQ/QCF Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or willingness to work towards).
* In-depth knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding, and person-centred practice.
* Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work flexibly, including evenings/weekends if required.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desire

* Experience working with individuals with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs, or complex care needs.
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
* IT literacy and experience with care management systems.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £27,381.25-£30,940.00 per year
