Machine Shop Inspector

Wolviston Management Services are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Machine Shop Inspector to join their precision engineering team based in Newcastle.
This is an excellent opportunity for a time-served machinist with strong inspection experience to play a key role in maintaining quality standards within a busy, high-spec manufacturing environment.
What You'll Be Doing
Carrying out dimensional inspection of precision-engineered components using a range of calibrated equipment.
Ensuring all parts conform to engineering drawings and customer specifications.
Maintaining and updating inspection and calibration records in line with quality procedures.
Working closely with machinists and engineers to resolve quality issues and support continuous improvement.
Conducting first-off, in-process, and final inspections to ensure product consistency.
Using manual and digital inspection tools, including micrometers, verniers, and height gauges.
Operating a Romer Arm (portable CMM) for precision measurement — experience preferred but training can be provided. What We're Looking For
Time-served machinist with proven experience in mechanical inspection.
Strong understanding of engineering drawings, tolerances, and geometric symbols.
Confident in the use of calibration and inspection equipment.
Experience working within an ISO9001 or similar quality management environment.
Ability to work independently with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
