We are seeking to recruit a Technician Trainer to join our Motor Vehicle team at Peterborough College. Working closely with the team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day running of workshops ensuring that there are tools and materials readily available for all learners. This is a hands-on role, supervising and coaching students whilst assisting the tutors. If you have a real flair for passing your knowledge onto others, a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to act as a role model, this could be just the job for you.
Responsibilities
* Supervise and coach students in the workshops and assist tutors as required.
* Ensure tools and materials are readily available and the workshop is maintained to an appropriate standard.
* Be a role model and provide guidance to learners of mixed abilities; support flexible prioritisation of tasks.
Qualifications
* Level 2 qualification in the relevant subject area.
* Minimum Level 2 in literacy and numeracy (GCSE English Language and Maths grade C/4 or above).
* Level 3 award in Education + Training/PTLLS or equivalent (or willing to work towards this).
* Health and Safety or a technical training qualification (or willing to achieve Level 2 equivalent qualifications).
Skills and Attributes
* Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
* Ability to work and support young people of mixed abilities; able to work flexibly and prioritise tasks by importance.
