JOB TITLE: TECHNICIAN – PRESS SHOP
HOURS: 40 hour per week, Monday to Friday
DEPARTMENT: Press Shop
LOCATION: Coventry, Westwood Business Park
REPORTING TO: Head of Advanced Engineering
KEY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
* This position is responsible for the daily setup and operation of hydraulic controlled press within a niche carbon press form facility. The successful candidate will be required to assist other operators and demonstrate press health and safety, together with a high-quality focus and counter measures to any problems encountered.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE:
* Set up and operate a hydraulic press for routine established work
* Good detail and decision-making skills in order to setup equipment
* check product quality and adjust to meet customer deadlines and requirements
* Complete daily TPM's and continual press maintenance
* Load, install and set up tools as required, in line with setup documents.
* Resolve basic manufacturing issues.
* Provide support to the management by ensuring work is completed to quality standards and scheduled targets.
* Maintain performance logbooks for assigned equipment and report deficiencies to the maintenance team.
* Support the team leader with documenting material, production and quality control issues.
* Maintain a zero-incident safety culture and ensure that company policies and the code of conduct are followed.

HEADLINE SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:
ESSENTIAL:
* Experience of setting up and operating a hydraulic press for routine established work.
* Experience of loading, installing, and setting up tools.
* Experience of resolving basic manufacturing issues.
* Experience of TPM scheduling and press maintenance.
* Able to work to tight deadlines and within a quality lead environment.
* Able to work as part of a team to ensure that overall production targets are met.
* Able to manage own work area stock levels and interface with the team leader to ensure that parts are available to meet production targets.
* Experience of working in a production environment
* Experience of using a wide range of basic hand/air tools
* Previous experience of working to repeatable tight deadlines
DESIRABLE:
* Basic knowledge and understanding of hydraulic press and/or punch operations including basic set up is desired
* ROSPA or similar tool setting qualification.
* Banks man/forklift qualification.
* Experience of automotive product quality assurance systems (5S, KPI's)
KEY REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
* Internal: Direct to department Manager and communicate with all other Penso functions as and when required.
* External: None.
