Overview
Band 3 Administration and Clerical Officer (Cellpath Support Office) – The Cellular Pathology Department, histology office, is looking for a proactive, reliable administrator to support departmental staff and clinicians.
Responsibilities
* Act as a laboratory administrative assistant, providing comprehensive administrative support to departmental Consultants, Head Biomedical Scientist and other scientific and clinical staff.
* Input patient data and results, and prepare laboratory reports; undertake general secretarial duties for the department.
* Assist with departmental MDT provision to support Consultants.
* Liaise with hospital clinicians, GPs, other healthcare professionals and external agencies in line with departmental policies.
* Exercise autonomy within professional and managerial boundaries; verify and validate completed work.
Qualifications and Skills
* Excellent communication, inter-personal and secretarial skills; attention to detail.
* Sound IT skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Outlook, and experience updating databases.
* Previous experience in audio and copy typing and knowledge of medical terminology is advantageous but not essential.
Details
* Full-time hours: 8.45am – 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.
* Participation in a 1 in 3 weekly early start rota (from 8.00am – 4.00pm) may be required.
