Job Purpose:
Functional Lead for all Cost Engineer across the nexos business. A leading role to ensure consistency in process, software use and management of the cost control service and resources across all contracts/clients. Managing the cost application (including the quality of any spreadsheets used as part of the cost management function), regularly auditing its appropriate use and ensuring its optimum deployment.
This role also develops, maintains and manages the procedures/processes and work instructions for and output from cost requirements across contracts, clients and business functions.
Reporting Line:
Primary – Delivery: Commercial Lead
Functional: Head of PMO
Key Responsibilities:
* Attend cost meetings across all contracts (not every meeting, but a selection as required) to ensure quality and effectiveness is maintained.
* Provide cover for Cost Engineers.
* Audit cost reports and deliverables to ensure consistency of application, including owning and updating procedures and work instructions.
* Selection and appointment/removal of Cost Engineers and their development, as required.
* Define, run and manage all cross contract/client cost control and reporting processes, as agreed by the Commercial Leads.
* Optimal use of process and tools and the continual improvement of the cost control service.
* Defining the reporting standards and templates of the Cost Function. Documenting, and ensuring compliance with, any client specific deviations as agreed by the Contract Manager.
* Representing the cost control function on the Slingshot Steering Committee for digital developments and improvements.
Skills & Qualifications:
* Essential:
* Experience of leading and developing a team.
* Cost control or financial management experience in a senior role.
* Procedure and work instruction writing experience desirable.
* Expert level Excel skills.
* Desirable:
* HNC or higher qualifications preferred.
* Expertise with other cost management package, i.e. SAP, Oracle Finance etc.

Work Environment/Conditions:
* Office: Corporate headquarters, Albyn Place. Will require travel to other Aberdeen office locations to support business operations.
* Full-Time: 37.5-hours per week.
