Electrcomechanical Technician – Outside IR35 Contract

Exciting Outside IR35 Contract Opportunity – Electro-Mechanical Technician
We’re supporting a highly capable engineering business in Birmingham who are looking for an experienced Electro-Mechanical Technician to join them on a 6-month outside IR35 contract.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys full build involvement — from wiring control panels and cabinets through to supporting mechanical assembly and prototype builds. You’ll be working within a skilled, tight-knit engineering team on technically interesting equipment and machinery.
If you enjoy practical problem solving, reading schematics, and taking ownership of electrical builds — this will suit you.
What you’ll be doing:
* Wiring control panels from electrical drawings
* Working from single-line diagrams and schematic diagrams
* Connecting motors and configuring motor connections
* Building and wiring electrical cabinets
* Supporting electro-mechanical assembly activities
* Assisting with welding and mechanical build where required
* Ensuring neat, organised, high-quality panel wiring
* Supporting testing and fault-finding when needed
What we’re looking for:
* Strong experience as an Electro-Mechanical Technician
* Confident reading and interpreting electrical schematics & diagrams
* Proven experience wiring control panels and cabinets
* Experience with motor connections and power distribution
* Welding experience beneficial
* Knowledge of CAD systems advantageous (not essential)
* Comfortable working independently in an on-site environment
