As a Demi Chef de Partie, you will assist the Chef de Partie in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes in your section. You’ll ensure high standards of food hygiene and comply with all health and safety regulations while maintaining efficiency in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Key Responsibilities: Assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of food for your designated section (e.g., grill, pastry, garnish, etc.) Ensure consistency in quality and presentation according to kitchen standards. Follow instructions from the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen at all times. Ensure proper rotation of stock and check food items for freshness. Monitor portion and waste control to maintain profit margins. Assist in the development of new dishes and daily specials. Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene requirements. Support and train Commis Chefs or junior kitchen staff as needed. Report maintenance, equipment issues, or hazards to senior staff. Skills & Qualifications: Proven experience in a similar role within a professional kitchen. Culinary qualification or equivalent training is preferred. Good knowledge of food hygiene and kitchen safety standards (HACCP). Ability to work under pressure and in a team environment. Strong time management and organizational skills. Passion for cooking and creativity in food presentation. Working Conditions: Physically demanding role (standing for long periods, lifting, etc.) Early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required.
