Brook Street Recruitment is currently working on behalf of our client in the Belfast Dargan Crescent area to recruit a full-time, permanent Finance Assistant to join their growing team.The Role The successful candidate will support the Finance Team and Senior Management by processing purchase and sales transactions, managing payments and receipts, carrying out credit control duties, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with month-end processes in line with departmental deadlines.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain and manage the Purchase LedgerHandle customer payment queries efficiently and professionallyRaise purchase orders and liaise with suppliersProcess purchase invoices accurately and in a timely mannerPrepare and issue sales invoices and credit notesCarry out credit control activitiesAccurately allocate payments and receipts to supplier and customer accountsComplete month-end procedures in line with finance deadlinesSupport the wider finance team with additional duties as requiredEssential CriteriaMinimum of 5 GCSEs, including Maths and EnglishAt least 2 years' administration and finance experienceStrong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, and OutlookExperience using MIS/ERP systemsWillingness to learn new finance systems, software, and processesDesirable CriteriaAccounting Technician qualification or part-qualified statusExperience using Sage Intacct, Accura, or similar finance systemsSkills & AttributesExcellent attention to detailStrong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to organise and prioritise workload effectivelyCapable of meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environmentTeam player with a flexible and supportive approachAdditional InformationThis is a full-time, permanent positionWorking hours are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
