Audit & Accounts Manager
Location: Liverpool (onsite)
Salary: £60,000 per annum
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
We are working with a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Liverpool who are seeking an experienced Audit Manager to join their senior leadership team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountant to take ownership of a portfolio, lead audit engagements, and play a key role in the continued growth of the firm.
You will work with a diverse client base including SMEs, owner-managed businesses, and larger corporate entities across a range of sectors.
Key responsibilities:
* Managing a portfolio of audit clients, acting as the main point of contact
* Leading audit assignments from planning through to completion and sign-off
* Reviewing audit files, working papers, and statutory accounts
* Ensuring compliance with UK auditing standards, FRS102, and UK GAAP
* Managing and mentoring audit seniors and junior staff
* Allocating work, reviewing performance, and supporting team development
* Liaising directly with clients, providing commercial and technical advice
* Identifying opportunities for business development and cross-selling services
* Managing deadlines, budgets, and ensuring profitability of engagements
* Working closely with partners on strategic and operational matters
Requirements:
* ACA or ACCA qualified
* Minimum 5+ years’ experience within an accountancy practice (audit focused)
* Strong technical knowledge of audit, FRS102, and UK GAAP
* Proven experience managing audit assignments and client portfolios
* Strong leadership, communication, and client management skills
* Experience reviewing work and managing teams
* Commercially aware with the ability to identify growth opportunities
