Seeking a compassionate and experienced personal assistant to assist a 67-year-old gentleman with evening care in the Eastbourne area. This role involves providing support with bedtime routines and walking an assistance dog.
Duties
* Moving and handling
* Cooking
* Other relevant duties as required
* Looking after pets
* Dressing / undressing
* Bathroom assistance
* Assisting with bedtime routines and ensuring the individual is comfortable and safe
* Providing walking assistance and supporting mobility with an assistance dog
* Using a hoist for safe transfers, as the individual is a wheelchair owner
* Preparing my breakfast
Qualifications and Personal Attributes
* Previous experience as a carer or in a similar role
* Knowledge of personal assistant insurance and safeguarding protocols
* Ability to use a hoist and assist with mobility
* Friendly and patient demeanour, with a compassionate approach to care
* Reliable with good timekeeping
* Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
* Hygienic, tidy and well organised
* Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
* Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
* Honest and cheerful
* Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
* Must be comfortable with pets
* Able to always work to high standards of health & safety
* Must like dogs as I have an assistance dog that needs a 10 minute walk as part of job description
Additional Requirements
* Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours
* Vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission
