Bows & Arrows runs seven nurseries, all located in the town of Ipswich, Suffolk. We are an established, reputable, not-for-profit company who are looking to recruit a Deputy Nursery Manager for Wellington Nursery on Chevallier Street. Wellington Nursery is an 'Outstanding' rated nursery with 26 places for babies, toddlers, and preschool aged children. Reporting to the Nursery Manager, you will help lead a team of approximately 10 practitioners and ensure excellent outcomes for children attending the nursery. This team includes a group of skilled and knowledgeable educators, with strong teaching practices, and 2 talented Senior Early Years Educators working across the setting.
Some of your tasks will include -
* Supporting the Nursery Manager with the planning, delivery and monitoring of the Early Years Foundation Stage framework.
* Keeping informative, accurate, and up-to-date records - including records of progress and any behavioural concerns or developmental concerns.
* Working with the Nursery Manager to be compliant with legislation, company policy & procedure.
* Acting as the dedicated person for Safeguarding in the Manager's absence.
* Leading a team of practitioners with day-to-day tasks such as, absence, holidays, training, performance & supervisions.
You must hold at least a level 3 qualification in early years and have a solid understanding of the following -
* The theory of child development
* Content of the Early Years Framework
* Age & stage appropriate behaviours
* Safeguarding
* SEN
* Health & Safety in relation to a setting & its risk assessments
