The successful applicant is expected to obtain high-volume surgical and clinical experience from this post. At the same time, the post holder will have dedicated research time that will allow carrying out and participating in high-quality research, with the aim of peer-reviewed publications and national/international presentations. The post holder will be supported for presenting their research findings (study leave, travel expenses). The post is ideal for junior doctors aiming to improve their CV in preparation for application to training posts. The successful applicant will work under the direct supervision of Mr. CP Charalambous, both regarding clinical work and research.

Person Specification
Education and Qualifications
* MBBS or equivalent.
* Full GMC registration with a license to practice.
* BSc or equivalent.
Experience and Knowledge
* Completion of appropriate training.
* Organizational skills and ability to work in a team.
* Experience working within an NHS hospital.
* Adequate progression of training.
* Ability to assess acute medical problems with minimal supervision.
* Keen interest in further study.
* Previous orthopaedic/surgical experience at SHO level.
Skills and Abilities
* Punctual, reliable, competent in managing basic medical and surgical problems independently.
