Purchase Ledger Supervisor / Senior Accounts Payable
£30,000 – £38,000 | Hybrid | Horncastle, Lincolnshire
We're partnering with a well-established, multi-site UK business that is strengthening its finance function and looking to appoint a Purchase Ledger Supervisor to take ownership of Accounts Payable.
This is a true supervisory role — suited to an experienced Senior AP / Purchase Ledger Supervisor who wants responsibility, influence, and the chance to bring structure and consistency to a busy AP function.
The Opportunity As Purchase Ledger Supervisor, you'll be responsible for the smooth running of the purchase ledger, supervising a small team and acting as the go-to person for all AP matters.
You'll remain hands-on, while also setting standards, improving processes, and ensuring deadlines are met.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supervising and supporting the Purchase Ledger / Accounts Payable team
* Ensuring timely and accurate processing of ~2,500 invoices per month
* Reviewing and approving payment runs
* Acting as the escalation point for supplier queries
* Providing accurate data for weekly cash flow reporting
* Identifying and implementing process improvements
* Maintaining strong controls and consistency across the ledger
* Working within an established ERP system
About You
This role will suit a Purchase Ledger Supervisor or Senior AP who:
* Has proven experience supervising an AP / Purchase Ledger function
* Is confident managing different experience levels within a team
* Enjoys improving processes and raising standards
* Is organised, resilient, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
* Has solid Excel and general IT skills
* Takes a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach
This role is not suitable for candidates without supervisory responsibility.
Location & Working Pattern
* Based near Horncastle, Lincolnshire
* Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
* Typical hours: 8:00–4:00 / 8:30–4:30 / 9:00–5:00
* Initially office-based to embed and stabilise the function
* Hybrid working is available once established (typically 3 days onsite / 2 WFH)
