Job Details: Placement duration: September 2024 - August 2025 The EE team requires some short term electronics resource to support current projects. The Intern will have the opportunity to get involved in many aspects of the project from requirements capture through to small electrical/electronic design tasks, prototyping, testing, documentation and releasing to production. Job Responsibilities: Produce new or update/modify existing schematics using appropriate design tools (Altium). Produce new or update/modify existing cable drawings using appropriate design tools (AutoCAD) Perform Engineering testing of prototypes covering: safety, EMC and interfaces (USB, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, LVDS). Perform Temperature Profile and Temperature/Humidity testing for harsh environments. Ensure good communication with other groups, Software, Systems, System Test, Production, QA etc. Minimum Requirements: Essential: Completed at least two years of a 3 or 4 year degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering. A Level - AAB -Maths and any two of Physics, Electronics, Computing/Computer Science or Further Maths or similar subjects. GCSE English Language at Grade B or above. Desirable Knowledge: Analogue electronic design Power supplies and AC circuits Digital electronic design. Electromagnetism. Ethernet and Fiber optic Communications 3G/4G Cellular Communications USB design experience RFID design experience Contactless smartcard systems OrCAD/Altium experience AutoCAD experience Harnessing and cabling.
